Activision Explains Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare’s 130 GB Size – It Is a “High-End Estimate”-October 2024

The special editions of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare are big, literally. The Legacy, Legacy Pro, and Digital Deluxe editions of Activision’s 2016 first-person shooter need a whopping 130 GB of your system’s storage space, Activision has confirmed following the appearance of images of the game’s boxes from a French retailer that revealed the size. We are aware that special editions come with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, so it is a packagethat contains two full-fledged games, but 130 GB is still a huge amount of space.

Of course, it needs clarification, and Activision has provided it. The Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare FAQ has been updated to confirm that 130 GB is indeed the required space. This is, however, a "high-end estimate” that covers both Infinite Warfare and Modern Warfare Remastered along with day-one updates and the additional multiplayer maps that are set to come out before December 31, 2016. For those who are unaware, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered will launch with 10 multiplayer maps, while the remaining six will be released in December.

The amount of storage space that you will need to clear in order to install Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare alone on your system is yet to be revealed. Last year’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 was 58.61 GB in size. The images that emerged recently also showcased logos for Certain Affinity, Beenox, and High Moon Studios on the games box, alongside Infinity Ward and Raven Software. To what extent were Affinity, Beenox, and High Moon Studios in the development of Infinite Warfare and/or Modern Warfare Remastered is yet unknown.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is set to hit the market on November 4 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. If you wish to play Modern Warfare Remastered, you will have to buy one of the premium versions of this year’s first-person shooter from Activision. Those PlayStation 4 users who pre-ordered one of the premium versions are now able to enjoy Modern Warfare Remastered’s single-player campaign mode exclusively via early access.
