Activision acquires American Chopper license
Activision acquires American Chopper license-October 2024
Oct 22, 2024 5:34 AM

Activison announced today that it has entered into an agreement with the Discovery Channel to develop and publish PC, console, and mobile games based on the television show American Chopper. The deal allows Activision's value arm the North American rights to the license over the next few years.

American Chopper chronicles the experiences of the father-and-son team of Paul Teutul Sr. and Paul Teutul Jr., who design and build custom motorcycles out of their Orange County Choppers garage. Since its debut on the Discover Channel in 2003, the show has been the highest-rated series on the channel, averaging more than 4 million viewers a week.

Activision Value had previously licensed the rights to the Discovery Channel show Monster Garage and released a game based on the program for the PC in February.

While Activision said the first games will be available for the 2004 holiday season, it did not specify anything about the games, nor which platforms will see a release. Check back to GameSpot for more information on the American Chopper games as they become available.
