The overwhelming majority of the movie theatre market will be open for business again by mid-July, according to The National Association of Theatre Owners. A spokesperson told Business Insider that it expects 90 percent of the global theatre market to be open in time for Tenet's release on July 17.
NATO represents movie theatres in the US, but the spokesperson was speaking about the global market for the movie-going audience.

Now Playing: Fortnite - Tenet Trailer Revealed In Party Royale (Live Event)
Tenet, the new movie from The Dark Knight director Christopher Nolan, remains one of the summer's biggest movies that has not been delayed due to COVID-19. The latest trailer for the movie confirmed it's still coming to theatres, but the video did not show a release date. However, the trailer's description page showed that the July 17 release date was still planned.
Even if theatres are technically allowed to open in July, it remains to be seen if audiences will show up in numbers reflecting the pre-COVID days. Mark Zoradi, the CEO of movie chain Cinemark, said during an earnings call this week that he's been speaking with Tenet studio Warner Bros., and they remain "optimistic" about the movie coming to theatres on schedule in July.
