50 Cent lights up retail charts-March 2024
Mar 17, 2025 11:56 PM

Going platinum for 50 Cent is nothing new--each of the rapper's two full-length albums both sold millions of copies for record label Aftermath Entertainment. However, the hip-hop star with the monetary moniker (real name Curtis Jackson) is certainly proving his worth to game publisher VU Games.

The company, owned by Vivendi Universal (which also owns Universal Music Group, Aftermath's parent label), today announced that 50 Cent: Bulletproof has sold 1 million copies in North America and Europe. Bulletproof was released in November of 2005 on the Xbox and the PlayStation 2.

In the game, which was drubbed by critics, players assume the role of 50 Cent as he takes on corrupt politicians, drug dealers, and other haters. Accompanying Mr. Cent on his crusade are fellow Aftermath label mates Eminem, Dr. Dre, and others.

Even though the game was named one of the 10 most violent games by the Family Media Guide, 50 Cent publicly OK'd his game to be purchased by parents for their children, explaining that it could be used as a learning tool.

50 Cent: Bulletproof will be released on the PSP later this year. For more information on the game, read GameSpot's review.
