Terminal Reality representatives confirmed today that the PlayStation 2 version of 4x4 Evolution, its off-road truck racer, has been approved by Sony and is headed for manufacturing.
Previous versions of the game allowed Dreamcast and PC players to compete against one another, though the PlayStation 2 currently lacks any way to manage any sort of online mode. To make up for this loss, the PS2 version features enhanced physics and a two-player split-screen mode. The game's main focus is still on earning money to buy bigger, better trucks and upgrade parts for your existing truck.
The PlayStation 2 version of 4x4 Evolution is currently scheduled to hit shelves later this month. Stay tuned for a full review of the game next week.
