“4K Resolution” For The Division “At All Times” On PS4 Pro Following 1.6 Update
“4K Resolution” For The Division “At All Times” On PS4 Pro Following 1.6 Update-October 2024
Oct 21, 2024 7:38 AM

It seems that The Division now always uses "4K resolution" on PS4 Pro following yesterday’s 1.6 update.

Ubisoft’s released the Last Stand expansion for The Division alongside the 1.6 update for all platforms yesterday. An interesting tidbit for PS4 Pro owners is that the patch notes on the Pro mention that the game now always uses 4K resolution. Prior to the 1.6 update, only the game’s user interface would render in 4K on PS4 Pro, while the game’s world would render in native 1080p.

The exact details of this 4K update on PS4 Pro are unknown, but users on the NEOGAF forums are reporting a fairly big improvement in image quality on Sony’s enhanced PS4 console. It’s likely that the update now allows for downsampling on 1080p screens. The Division was officially announced by Ubisoft back in 2013 during that year’s E3 event. “Our goal with Tom Clancy’s The Division is nothing short of completely changing the way people play online RPGs,” said Ubisoft’s executive producer, Fredrik Rundqvist, upon the game’s announcement. “With the power of next-gen consoles behind it, The Division puts players in the middle of breathtaking, persistent multiplayer thriller in which they will explore, fight and work together as modern society collapses around you, all with the authenticity for which Tom Clancy games are renowned.”

The Division is available now for PC, PS4 (PS4 Pro) and Xbox One.
