3DO announced financial results for fiscal year 1998 and the fourth quarter ending March 31.
For the fiscal year, 3DO reported a profit of US$22.5 million or $0.83 per share, an 69 percent increase, compared to $13.3 million or $0.46 per share for the prior fiscal year.
For the fourth quarter, however, 3DO reported a net loss of $6.3 million, or $0.25 per share, compared to a net income of $14.0 million, or $0.49 per share, for the fourth quarter 1997.
3DO's revenue for the fourth quarter was $1.6 million compared to $28.8 million for the samequarter 1997. 3DO attributes that decrease to the sale of its hardware business in June.
3DO shipped High Heat Baseball '99 for the PC during the fourth quarter, and released Might and Magic VI and Army Men just after the end of the quarter.
