In the past, 3dfx has always showcased a small number of games in its trade-show booths. These have included games like Accolade's Slave Zero, Rage's Expendable, and Epic's Unreal. At this year's E3, however, 3dfx plans to go all out.
More than 50 games will be previewed at the 3dfx booth. These include works from both established and independent developers alike. Small cross sections of the games to be shown include Quake III: Arena, Final Fantasy VIII, Need for Speed IV, Battlezone 2, Seed and Infinite Worlds.
Additionally, every hour on the hour for everyday of the show, 3dfx will be letting the developers of these games speak at what the company is calling its Showcase Title Event. Scheduled to appear are Shiny's Dave Perry for a talk on Messiah; Midway's Kevin Potter on NFL Blitz 2000; Blizzard's Bill Roper on Diablo II; Nihilistic's Ray Gresko on Vampire: The Masquerade; and Planet Moon Studio's Nick Bruty on Giants, as well as a host of other speakers.
Developers will preview their games on a giant projection screen at the 3dfx booth starting at 11:00am on Thursday, May 13.
