3dfx Interactive has announced its third quarter 1999 results ending Oct. 31, 1999. The company's revenues topped at $105,856,000, up from third quarter 1998 revenues of $33,206,000. But the company also had net losses of $17,618,000, compared with a third quarter 1998 net income of $3,118,000.
So far, the company's revenues for the first nine months ending Oct. 31, 1999 were $251,135,000, compared with 1998's third quarter revenue totaling $141,858,000. 3dfx's net losses for the first nine months reached $31,401,000, compared with 1998's net income of $19,613,000. Part of the reason for this year's losses was its acquisition of STB Systems and its restructuring
The company expects the recently announced Voodoo4/5 products to help to bolster its coffers. 3dfx also says that its board of directors is narrowing in on a replacement for its departing CEO, Greg Ballard, in the next few weeks.
