343’s O’Connor Tries To Clear Up Halo 5 PC Statements, After MS Denies PC Version-October 2024
Oct 22, 2024 2:05 PM

343's development director for the Halo franchise Frank O'Connor has commented on Microsoft's statement that Halo 5: Guardians won't be coming to PC.

The Halo community sort of exploded last week, when 343's Frank O'Connor stated that there is plenty of chance that Halo 5 could appear on PC. According O'Connor moving the game over the PC, isn't the hardest thing since it's being developed on an Intel platform.

Following O'Connor's statement, Microsoft's Aaron Greenberg denied a possible PC release for the Xbox One exclusive. Xbox's marketing head Greenberg stated that a PC release "isn't true", and that the game is made exclusively for the Xbox One.

A few yours ago, 343's O'Connor clarified and commented on Greenberg's denial of Halo 5 heading to PC. According the development director, he was asked a question and gave the same answer he has been giving for a decade:

@FHal0_ I didn't "mention" it, I was asked a question and gave the same noncommittal answer I've been giving to that question for ten years.

O'Connor later stated that Greenberg, in fact, had said the same thing that he has been saying. According O'Connor, bringing Halo 5 to PC is not out of the question, but there is no plan at this time.

@Inkd7s No he didn't, he said the same thing I did. It's not out of the question, but there's no plan at this time?

O'Connor tries to clarify his previous statements

I can't help but sense some inconsistency in O'Connor's answers, and more people seem to have 'misunderstood' the development director. Greenberg completely denied a PC release, and once again confirmed the game to be an Xbox One exclusive. O'Connor on the other hand, again states that it's not out of the question, but there is no plan at this time.

@Inkd7s Those two things are the same thing at this time. Don't worry.

These two statements are the same though, according O 'Connor.
