Development director on the Halo Franchise, Frank O’Connor, has denied that 343i is working on Halo 3 Anniversary.
A Halo 15th Anniversary teaser was released on YouTube yesterday to celebrate 15 years of Halo on November 15.
Following the release of this teaser, some have been speculating about a possible Halo 3 anniversary release.
On the Neogaf forums, 343i development director O’Connor has now denied that the team is working on Halo 3 anniversary.
“Absolutely not”, said O’Connor. “We continue to work on halo wars 2 and future endeavors. There are no h3 anniversary plans at this time and the diminishing returns would make it a tricky proposition anyway.”
According to the development director, the Halo 15th anniversary video is just literally a celebration of 15 years of Halo and nothing more.
343 Industries has released anniversary editions for both Halo 1 and Halo 2. Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary was released for the Xbox 360 back in 2011, while Halo 2 Anniversary was released for Xbox One in 2014 as part of Halo: The Masterchief Collection, which also included Halo 3.
Halo 3 is considered to best Halo game in the series. The game sold more than 12 million copies globally, thereby beating any all other games in the series.
