To date, Take-Two Interactive's 2K Play label has been best known for titles like Carnival Games and Dora the Explorer. The company added a bit of indie flavor to its lineup today, as 2K Play announced it will be bringing The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom and Axel & Pixel to Xbox Live Arcade.
Gamers can get to the bottom of P.B. Winterbottom next year. Developed by Los Angeles-based studio The Odd Gentlemen, The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom is a puzzling platformer with silent film sensibilities. As the scurrilous pie thief P.B. Winterbottom, players can "record" their actions in each level and then play them through again as a clone runs through the recorded actions.
The time-bending gameplay mechanic garnered a good bit of attention as part of the Indie Games Showcase at E3 2008, where P.B. Winterbottom was a finalist for GameSpot's Best Platformer and Game of the Show. The game will arrive on Xbox Live Arcade in early 2010.
Set for release this fall, Axel & Pixel is a point-and-click adventure from Czech developer Silver Wish Games. The game follows a painter and his dog through surreal, hand-drawn environments. Silver Wish's previous work includes the 2004 PC and Xbox flight combat game Wings of War.
