This weekend holds a double whammy of awesome for sports fans because two of Australia's most popular sporting codes are holding their grand final matches! Ahead of the AFL grand final being held in Melbourne between Geelong and Collingwood on Saturday, one avid Minecraft user has created what the match would look like if it were played out in the pixelated game.
User Wasabiface has gone to great lengths to re-create the Melbourne Cricket Ground, including seating bays, a commentator’s box, and a scoreboard. There are even two giant AFL players on the field; thankfully, though, we're pretty sure they aren't to scale because they are huge!
YouTube user MCworldXchange has filmed a video runthrough of the Minecraft MCG, and if you look carefully, you can even see the score that Wasabiface is predicting for the match.
If you're a fan of Minecraft who likes AFL, or an AFL fan who likes to dabble in Minecraft, it's worth checking out the video below to see the virtual MCG. (Editor's note: GO THE CATS!)
