Major League Gaming has today announced that its first major console gaming tournament will take place in New York October 25-26. Disciplines at the event will include the PS2 version of Madden NFL 2004 and Halo on the Xbox--which will be played both as a regular deathmatch and as a four-on-four team event.
"MLG is for real, and the proof is that the best gamers in the country are coming to our first regional event in New York City to show the world what pro gaming is all about," said Michael Sepso, CEO of MLG. "If you are serious about your gaming and want to be a pro gamer, then being a part of the first MLG tournament is not only important, it's essential."
The entry fee for the competition, which has a total of $10,000 in prize money up for grabs, is $50 per person. Anyone interested in competing can register online at the official MLG Web site, which also contains further information on the event.
