Xbox Game Pass To Include All Microsoft Game Studios Exclusives from Sea of Thieves Onward-April 2024
Apr 19, 2025 8:16 PM

Still reluctant to try out Microsoft’s Netflix-like Xbox Game Pass subscription service? Well, you may be about to change your mind, as the pot has been sweetened in a big way – going forward, all major Microsoft exclusives will be available through Xbox Game Pass from day one.

That means, for instance, that you’ll be able to play Rare’s upcoming pirate adventure Sea of Thieves via Xbox Game Pass when it launches on March 20. Microsoft has also promised State of Decay 2, Crackdown 3, and the next Halo, Forza, and Gears of War games will available via the service from day one. In other words, if you sign up for Xbox Game Pass, you’ll never have to pay retail prices for a Microsoft exclusive again. Not a bad deal. According to Xbox boss Phil Spencer, expanding Game Pass is all about giving fans what they want…

“The number one request from our customers was to get new blockbuster games into Game Pass. We’ll continue to invest more and more into first party. The fact that those first-party games will launch into Game Pass just gives our customers more choice in how they get to play those games.”

Spencer also hinted a version of Game Pass may come to PC in the future.

“I have been on public record saying I want people to play the games they play on the devices they want to play them on. So, stay tuned. We’re not announcing anything today other than our biggest games will launch on retail date into Game Pass, but I like [the] thinking.”

Xbox Game Pass grants players access to more than 100 Xbox One and Xbox 360 games for $10 a month (you can check out a full list of available games here). Microsoft has also announced they’ll be offering $60 six-month Game Pass subscription cards through GameStop and other retailers going forward.

What do you think? Will you be signing up for Xbox Game Pass now that new-release games are included? Honestly, if you’re an Xbox One owner with a decent Internet connection, I'm not sure why you wouldn’t.
