Today, Havas Interactive announced that the Won.net online gaming service is now available in France, Germany, and the United Kingdom. The announcement was made at a press conference today at the Milia trade show.

　　The decision to bring Won.net to Europe marks the beginning of Havas' intention to become Europe's number one online gaming service. In addition, the existing American Won.net service has given the European Won.net a major head start both for technology and content - in fact, the new European Won.net services have all the features of the American service, including player matching, instant messaging, online games, and more. However, it was noted that all three of the European Won.net services as yet remain in beta form, although they are in fact feature-complete, publicly available, and completely free of charge.

　　The Won.net service presently has more than 2.5 million registered users, 300,000 of which are European. The new European Won.net has a staff of more than 120 individuals spread across local teams in Munich, London, Paris, and Dublin. The decision to bring Won.net to Europe is based on Havas' recognition of the growing influence of the Internet and online gaming in European countries.
