Wireless award winners announced at CTIA-April 2024

  It didn't take long for the gaming industry to realign its view--moving deftly from Game Developers Conference in San Francisco to the even sunnier and hotter confines of New Orleans where CTIA Wireless 2005 kicked off this week.

  As is now a CTIA custom, GameSpot and sister site Wireless Gaming Review handed out the coveted Mobies awards last night at this mobile applications-focused trade show.

  The awards were given in 10 categories, with an emphasis on innovation, technology, and design as criteria the judges used to determine winners.

  The winners (game, publisher, developer) in all categories are as follows:

  Mobile Game of the Year

  Topolon (G-mode, G-mode)

  Special Achievement Awards

  Best Indie Game

  Nano Kid (Pocket Panic!, Pocket Panic!)

  Best Use of Existing IP

  Prince of Persia: Warrior Within (Gameloft, Gameloft)

  Genre Awards

  Best Action Game

  Star Trek: The Birds of Prey (Jumbuck Corporation, Jumbuck Corporation)

  Best Adventure/RPG Game

  Might and Magic (Gameloft, Gameloft)

  Best Board/Card Game

  Amy's Hangman (Centerscore, Centerscore)

  Best Platform Game

  Prince of Persia: Warrior Within (Gameloft, Gameloft)

  Best Puzzle Game

  Topolon (G-mode, G-mode)

  Best Sports Game

  Deer Hunter (Sorrent, Sorrent)

  Best Strategy Game

  Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3 (Gameloft, Gameloft)
