As development costs rise and gamemakers become less willing to take chances due to the industry's hits-driven business model, small game developers are being left out in the cold, says one start-up publisher. "It is about the developer. We can't say that enough," Wild Hare Entertainment marketing vice president Andrew Hoolan told GameSpot. "It is imperative for this partnership to be built on trust and respect."
The company has announced that it has licensed Blits--a scalable online-game technology that allows for cross-platform connectivity, giving it the ability to mix mobile, console, and PC game players. Wild Hare will also provide marketing, distribution, and porting technology, and its announced game platforms include next-generation online download services--Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation 3's as-yet-unnamed online service--and the PC.
