Australian game developer Auran has announced the completion of Trainz, its model railroad simulation game. While the game isn't scheduled for retail release by Strategy First until February, a limited number of copies are available for order directly from the Auran Web site, and those who ordered the game before November 15 will receive their copies in time for the holidays.
Trainz lets players design and build virtual layouts for a variety of trains. The game features hundreds of textures and objects, trains from more than 20 countries, and a number of realistic sounds. Trainz is designed to replicate many aspects of model railroading, including building track layouts and environments, as well as driving the trains using a virtual DC controller. In addition, players can control the locomotives from the engineer's point of view. For more information, take a look at our previous coverage of the game.
