One of the games being shown at Sony's booth was a combat flight simulator called Sidewinder MAX. It wasn't in playable form, and the looping footage didn't last more than a few seconds, but it looked like a fast-paced version of Crave's Aerowings series on the Dreamcast. There were plenty of selectable planes available, including such famous wings as the F-14 Tomcat, C-130 Hercules, F-18 Hornet, and the RAF Tornado. As you can tell from the movie below, the footage depicted these planes engaging one another, and also displayed ground objects like bridges and dams getting hit by air-to-ground fire as well as tanks on the move.
Sidewinder MAX is scheduled for a December release in Japan, and it's not known whether or not Sony will publish the game in the US. Be sure to take a look at the movie, linked below.
