Ultracade has signed a distribution deal with Taito, giving the California-based company North American rights to games from Taito's library of releases from the '70s through the '90s. Ultracade plans to release three versions of its Ultracade multigame arcade machines emulating Taito's classics that once dominated the coin-op arcades.
One machine, dubbed Taito Arcade Classics, will feature multiple control schemes, including joysticks, spinners, and a trackball. The stand-up cabinet will include more than 20 Taito games, including Bubble Bobble, Zoo Keeper, and Arkanoid. Ultracade will eventually release seven upgrade packs to add games to the machine's library.
A second cabinet, Taito Gun Classics, will feature a light-gun interface adapter, permitting multiple guns to be used with such games as Operation Wolf and Gun Buster.
The third machine from the partnership is the Taito Driving Classics cabinet, which is slated to contain eight games, including Chase H.Q. and Special Criminal Investigation.
Taito Arcade Classics will be shown at this fall's AMOA show in Las Vegas, Nevada.
