The next Nintendo Direct has been announced, and it's happening today. A Nintendo Direct focused on Super Mario Bros. Wonder will be held on Thursday, August 31. This will be our first extended look at the game following its initial announcement earlier this summer. It's also the first time we'll see the game since learning that longtime Mario voice Charles Martinet will be retiring from the role.
The event begins today at 7 AM PT / 10 AM ET, and the broadcast will run for about 15 minutes, Nintendo said. During the event, Nintendo will provide an "in-depth look" at the 2D side-scrolling game.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder brings Mario back to his 2D roots, and it looks like one of Mario's most colorful and unpredictable games yet with Elephant Mario making his debut.
The game is set for release on October 20. For lots more, be sure to read GameSpot's Super Mario Bros. Wonder roundup of everything we know.
The Super Mario Bros. Wonder Direct broadcast takes place Thursday, August 31, and like past events, it'll be streamed on YouTube and Twitch. You can watch it here on GameSpot, too, as you can see above.
