The next project from Guitar Hero and Rock Band creator Harmonix is Fantasia: Music Evolved, a new Kinect game inspired by Disney's 1940 animated film Fantasia.
The game is in development exclusively for the Xbox 360 and Xbox One and is targeting a release in 2014. No other platforms were mentioned.
In Fantasia: Music Evolved, players use the Kinect motion control technology to manipulate the flow of music. Gamers can change the mix of songs in real time, mashing up the original recording and remixed versions, or even adding layers of music via "magical manipulators."
The game supports multiplayer through a two-player local-only mode that can be played either competitively or collaboratively.
More than 25 "leading" artists are lending music to the game, including DJ and producer AVICII, pop singer Bruno Mars, and rock group Queen. Songs featured in Fantasia: Music Evolved include the original recording and two remixes.
Fantasia: Music Evolved will be published by Disney Interactive, which is also behind August's Disney Infinity, a toys-to-life console game in the vein of Activision's Skylanders series.
Confirmed songs for Fantasia: Music Evolved are listed below.
AVICII - "Levels"
Bruno Mars - "Locked Out of Heaven"
Fun. - "Some Nights"
Kimbra - "Settle Down"
Queen - "Bohemian Rhapsody"
