Red Dead Redemption 2 Switch Port May Not Happen As Rockstar “Doesn’t Trust” Nintendo; 3 GameCube VC Games Expected At Launch – Rumor-April 2024

Red Dead Redemption 2, the second entry in the series currently in development by Rockstar Games, is one of the biggest games releasing next year, and many have been wondering if the game will eventually hit other platforms outside PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. While a PC release seems to be a given, considering the success of the Grand Theft Auto V late PC release, a Nintendo Switch seems to be quite unlikely.

In a recent livestream hosted by YouTuber OBE1, informed insider Laura Kate Dale, who has revealed a great deal regarding the Nintendo Switch since its official unveiling, mentioned that Rockstar probably won't port Red Dead Redemption 2 to the Switch, as the publisher doesn't trust Nintendo.

Speaking of other high profile games, Laura Kate Dale also stated that she hasn't heard anything about a possible Overwatch port, which would definitely be a missed occasion.

Laura Kate Dale also talked about other Switch details, confirming that there won't be any friend codes and that we should expect 3 GameCube Virtual Console games at launch. These games will apparently run at native resolution. Other discussed features have already been talked about earlier this week.

In his livestream, OBE1 also talked about the next entry in the Assassin's Creed series, the yet to be named one set in ancient Egypt, revealing that it should be released on Switch alongside the PS4 and Xbox One release, which is extremely likely, considering how Ubisoft is planning to support the Nintendo Switch with plenty of releases.

The Nintendo Switch console launches on a yet to be confirmed MArch release date in all regions. We will keep you updated on the console's games as soon as more comes in on them, so stay tuned for all the latest news.
