PC company Razer has announced the latest version of its Razer Blade gaming laptop line, which it calls the "world's thinnest and lightest." The newest version of the 14" laptop comes with the newest Intel and NVIDIA processors, more memory, and a QHD+ display. It costs $2,200 and is due to launch later this month online and at some Microsoft Stores.
Specifically, the new Razer Blade model features the newest NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M (3 GB GDDR5 VRAM) graphics card, and what Razer calls a "state-of-the-art Indium Gallium Zinc Oxide display panel technology to offer vivid color and image quality. It also features 16 GB of 1600 MHz DDR3L memory and solid-state storage with options for up to 512 GB.
Razer notes that its new Razer Blade laptop features speeds "up to four times faster" than traditional notebook hardrives, allowing it to boot and launch games faster.
“We continue to listen as gamer needs evolve and the new Razer Blade again sets the industry standard by which gaming laptops are measured," Razer co-founder and CEO Min-Liang Tan said in a statement.
It sounds like Razer has also gone to great lengths to ensure its new Razer Blade laptop doesn't overheat. The company notes that it has "dedicated thermal engineers" at Razer who designed the notebook to direct heat away from touch surfaces, instead sending it other areas of the unit that can dissipate heat quickly or are not normally touched.
The new Razer Blade line comes in a "precision-cut CNC aluminum chassis," and also features a custom-made trackpad and a backlit keyboard that has anti-ghosting capabilities and programmable keys.
A $2000 "Full HD model" will also be available in February. See below for the full spec details for both units. Will you be picking one up? Let us know in the comments below!
