Players are getting extra time due to some server issues that prevented people from playing, Ubisoft said in a blog post. In addition, Ubisoft is expanding the number of beta participants by sending out codes to beta players to give to their friends. Previously, the only way to get in was to preorder the game yourself.

"Not only will this give you all more time play, it will give us more time to collect more data, feedback, and identify potential issues," the publisher explained.

In addition, Ubisoft has announced that it will hold a double XP event beginning this Friday, October 1, while the game's beta registration page will be taken down on October 1. Access codes from the original preorder promotion will be redeemable until October 2.

What's more, Ubisoft says it has improved matchmaking success rates, but notes that if you're still experiencing issues, you should check out this list of workarounds. In addition, if you preordered Siege but still have not received your beta code, you're encouraged to cont contact customer support.

Siege was originally set to launch in October but was delayed to December. Ubisoft has said Siege has the potential to become the company's best-selling FPS, even surpassing Far Cry 4. At the time, Ubisoft chief executive Yves Guillemot said the game's replayability "will be key to its success."
