LucasArts will demonstrate its upcoming Star Wars action game Jedi Outcast: Jedi Knight II at id Software's sixth annual QuakeCon game conference this week in Mesquite, Texas. The company also released a new screenshot from the game showing the interior of a Rebel hangar, complete with an X-Wing fighter and an R2 droid.
Jedi Outcast is powered by the Quake III engine, and it will feature both first- and third-person action. Players will assume the role of Jedi knight Kyle Katarn and battle storm troopers, Sith lords, and other forces of the Empire. The game will include a variety of weapons such as Rebel blasters, Imperial autorifles, bowcasters, and thermal detonators, as well as lightsabers, the Jedi's preferred weapon.
We've posted the new screenshot along with a previously available screenshot in the gallery above. Jedi Outcast: Jedi Knight II is in development at Raven Software, and it is scheduled for release in mid-2002. We'll have more information about Jedi Outcast from the show later this week. In the meantime, take a look at our previous coverage of the game.
