The latest entry in the PixelJunk line of PlayStation Network games is just around the corner. According to Q Games' Twitter account, PixelJunk SideScroller is set to launch on October 25 and deliver old-school, bullet-laden action with physics and other accoutrements for which the studio's games are known.
PixelJunk SideScroller is coming into view next week. Lasers, homing missiles, and other weapons will let players take the offensive, while a spin mechanic is intended to give them a way to avoid incoming fire. The game will also use a health bar system, allowing players' ships to take several hits before being destroyed.
As has become the norm with the PixelJunk line, local cooperative play will be supported for up to two players. Q Games is also including a special display mode that will present the game as it might have looked on a classic arcade cabinet.
