PAX East isn't leaving Boston anytime soon. The Massachusetts Convention Center Authority (MCAA) today announced that it had signed a deal with PAX organizers to keep the show in Beantown through 2023. I choose you, Boston!
The previous contract was set to expire after the 2012 show, which will be held April 6-8. PAX organizers said they are hoping to grow attendance for the three-day show size to 100,000, making it one of the biggest gaming gatherings in the business.
As part of the new deal, PAX East organizers have agreed to donate $25,000 per year to the Massachusetts Digital Games Institute (MassDigi), an endeavor launched last year by lieutenant governor Timothy Murray to promote a dialogue between academia and the gaming industry.
