As revealed two weeks ago, the once-delayed Directors Edition of Medal of Honor Pacific Assault has established a retail beachhead in stores earlier than scheduled. Developed at EALA, the Directors Edition is an extra-packed version of the regular version of Pacific Assault, which ships out next week. Both are rated "T" for Teen, with the Directors Edition costing $59.99 and the regular version costing $49.99.
Beginning with the 1941 sneak attack on Pearl Harbor, Pacific Assault follows young US Marine Tommy Conlin as he fights hits way through some of the most heated battles of the Pacific theater of World War II. The game will also feature the battles of Guadalcanal and Tarawa, which saw heavy casualties on both the Japanese and American sides.
Unlike the regular version, the Directors Edition of Pacific Assault will come on a DVD and feature a patrol boat's worth of extras, including six video featurettes that present both historical documentaries and making-of footage; two interactive applications; and an exclusive in-game mystery weapon.
