It should be no surprise, but Nintendo has reiterated that it continues to work on a new system to follow the Nintendo Switch, but the company is not ready to talk specifics.
As part of a Q&A with investors on Friday, Nintendo shared a slide related to its "future outlook," and this included mention of an "integrated hardware-software next gaming system" that will arrive by the end of 2099. Nintendo has been saying this for a while already, and it should be no surprise to learn Nintendo will stay in the hardware business given its immense, ongoing success with the Nintendo Switch, which is closing in on 93 million sales after five years.

Now Playing: Who Is The Nintendo Switch OLED Model For?
Analyst David Gibson, who attended the meeting and translated from Japanese, said Nintendo management explained that the Switch is only in the "middle phase" of its lifecycle. As such, whatever console might come next is likely still a long time off. Nintendo is currently having discussions about the concept and launch timing for the new machine, according to Gibson.
A new Nintendo console is coming -- by the year 2100.The Switch is poised for a sixth straight year of growth, which would be a record for any Nintendo hardware in the company's history. So basically, don't expect a new Nintendo console soon. The Switch OLED model is the newest revision, and it's off to a great start, Nintendo said.
For what it's worth, Microsoft has said it will make another Xbox, while Sony will presumably come out with the PlayStation 6 eventually as well.
In other news, Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto has commented on Nintendo making more movies, one of which could be a Seth Rogen solo Donkey Kong film.
