Moto1 has announced that it is using NDL's NetImmerse 3D game engine to develop a new racing game titled Trans-Am. The game will be released for either the Microsoft Xbox or the Sony PlayStation 2, pending ongoing negotiations with potential publishers. As the title suggests, the game will include drivers, tracks, and vehicles from the Trans-Am racing circuit.
"While we are currently using NetImmerse to build road-racing games, we plan on expanding to other genres in the future," Doug Service, director of development at Moto1, said. "We know NetImmerse will allow us to do so without changing game engines."
The game will be released in Q3 2001.
