Square's next RPG is the futuristic Xenogears, which mixes sprite-based action with polygonal monsters and combines them into one tight package. The battle system has two parts - each character can battle enemies hand-to-hand with a real-time combat system, or can send in super-powered mechanized attack units to crush the enemy.
