Chances are, your city's annual fireworks spectacular has been cancelled thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, don't fret because there is plenty of new stuff to watch on Netflix instead. From a new horror series to an anime about anthropomorphic animals to a classic '80s trilogy about punching and kicking, Netflix has plenty arriving this week. Check out the full list below along with a few recommendations.
While everyone gears up for the Independence Day weekend, when your neighbors will be setting off fireworks in their backyard way too early into the morning, you'll probably need something new to watch on . You're not going to be able to sleep anyway, so check out what's coming out this week along with a few recommendations.
If you're looking for a new anime to check out, BNA (Brand New Animal) arrives on Tuesday. In this new Netflix original series, Michiru is morphed into a raccoon/human hybrid and must help a wolf/human hybrid inside a specific zone of the city they live in--Anima-City--comprised of all different types of beastmen. The show looks pretty delightful and action-packed from the looks of a recent trailer.
BNA may not be everyone's cup of tea, though. Luckily, fans of horror will be excited to learn that the Ju-On series arrives on Friday. In Ju-On: Origins, a researcher searches for the home where something horrific happened years prior. Also, there are ghosts that can kill you. You can check out the trailer below, as the first season of Ju-On: Origins looks pretty intense.
While there is plenty of original programming coming, Netflix is also providing movies and TV shows for you to check out as well, and most of them drop on Wednesday. The first three Karate Kids movies arrive that day--which will get you prepared for Season 3 of Cobra Kai when it eventually comes to the streaming service. Follow the adventures of Daniel LaRusso as he learns the art of karate and kicks people in the face. Then come back to Netflix later in the year to learn that LaRusso's high school tormentor, Johnny Lawrence, wasn't as bad as a guy as LaRusso thought back then.
