Namco's fourth title in the PlayStation Ridge Racer series, R4, is looking better than ever. New, recently-released screenshots prove the point. Here, we see more gameplay, this time in a more urban area, without the dusk-like tones to the road and environment. (The included pictures are all from the same course.)
There's also a new mode called Real Racing Roots '99, the Grand Prix simulation part of the game. Teams you can race as will include the Pac Racing Club (with an obvious Pac-Man influence), Racing Club Micro Mouse Mappy, Racing Team Solvalou, and Dig Racing Team. As usual, the cars in the game are outfitted with the appropriate game graphics.
R4: Ridge Racer Type 4 is scheduled for release this December in Japan for the PlayStation.
