It feels like a lifetime since Universal launched its doomed Dark Universe--a shared monster movie universe consisting exactly one film. But while 2017's The Mummy was a commercial bomb, the studio is continuing to mine its vault of classic monster movie properties. The new version of The Invisible Man hits theaters this month, and a new trailer has been released.

　　The film stars Elizabeth Moss (The Handmaid's Tale) as Cecilia, a woman who escapes from her abusive, controlling husband Adrian. She's told that Adrian is dead, but in fact, he's found a way to turn himself invisible and sets about terrorizing his wife. Of course, no one believes her, leaving her alone to fight this invisible terror. As you'd expect from producers Blumhouse Pictures (Us, The Purge) and writer/director Leigh Whannell (Saw, Insidious), this is a full-on horror movie, and it looks scary as hell. 　　The Invisible Man also stars Oliver Jackson-Cohen (The Haunting of Hill House), Aldis Hodge (Hidden Figures), and Storm Reid (Euphoria). The movie hits theaters on February 28, 2020.

　　As for other Universal monster movies, Bridesmaids director Paul Feig recently revealed that he plans to make one titled Dark Army. He told Comingsoon.net that his script is currently with the studio, and that it will be a "modern day version of a monster movie."

　　Whannell is also the co-creator of the Saw franchise, and the latest movie in that series releases in May. It's titled Spiral: From the Book of Saw, and stars Chris Rock. Check out the first trailer here.
