NBA 2K15's Soundtrack Chosen By Music Legend Pharrell
NBA 2K15's Soundtrack Chosen By Music Legend Pharrell-April 2024
Apr 21, 2025 7:48 AM

Pharrell Williams, whose incredibly catchy song "Happy" is probably entering your head right now (sorry!), will be the official curator of the soundtrack for NBA 2K15, 2K Sports announced today. The Grammy Award winning singer replaces basketball icon Lebron James, who was given control of the soundtrack for last year's game, NBA 2K14, and did a pretty excellent job choosing songs.

According to 2K Sports, the soundtrack for NBA 2K15 will be the "most extensive and unique soundtrack compilation in NBA 2K franchise history." Unfortunately, 2K Sports has not yet disclosed the official soundtrack (it's coming later this summer, the publisher says), so we'll have to wait to find out if he chose any of his own songs.

"It was a cool experience," Pharrell said in a statement. "I tried to curate songs that were diverse but yet still proved to be motivational to gamers. It was important to me that the music complemented the on-court action of NBA basketball in NBA 2K15. I hope everyone enjoys it."

Pharrell was a founding member of N.E.R.D. and besides his own song, "Happy," he worked with Robin Thicke for last summer's hit song "Blurred Lines" and with Daft Punk on "Get Lucky."

NBA 2K15, developed by Visual Concepts, launches October 7 for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC.
