Despite holding two separate events during Tokyo Game Show 2010 to reveal four new characters in the ever-growing Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds roster, it appears Capcom and Marvel are not done just yet. The character count increased again this week, with yet another four characters unveiled during New York Comic Con 2010 over the weekend.
On the Capcom side, the publisher revealed Sir Arthur, the main protagonist from the Ghosts 'n Goblins series, and Nathan "Rad" Spencer from the Bionic Commando series, will be making an appearance in Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Other Capcom characters in the roster currently include Wesker, Tron Bonne, Viewtiful Joe, Amaterasu, Dante, Ryu, Morrigan, Chris Redfield, Felicia, Trish, and Chun-Li.
Marvel also announced two new additions: Magneto, the main villain in the X-Men comics with the power to generate and control magnetic fields; and the elusive Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing, or M.O.D.O.K, a large-headed megalomaniac that first appeared in Marvel's issue 93 of Tales of Suspense in 1967. M.O.D.O.K's abilities are superhuman intellect, psionic powers, and the ability to calculate probabilities, which will undoubtedly make him a tough opponent.
Other Marvel characters in Marvel vs. Capcom 3 include Spider-Man, X-23, Dormmamu, Thor, Deadpool, Hulk, Wolverine, Iron Man, Captain America, Doctor Doom, and Super-Skrull.
Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds is scheduled for release on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 during the fourth quarter of Capcom's current fiscal year, which runs January 1 to March 31, 2011.
