Namco announced Wednesday that it will bring its arcade game Soul Calibur to the Dreamcast later this year. The game was announced at a private showing in Tokyo where the company demonstrated a 30 percent complete version of the game. When complete, the game will include all 10 characters, new game modes not in the arcade, improved graphics and animation, and 60 frames-per-second visuals.
Soul Calibur is the first Dreamcast game that Namco has announced, and it comes just a week after the company showed off demos for Sony's next PlayStation. At that time, there was serious doubt that Namco would support Sega's machine, but this announcement will subdue those thoughts, at least for the time being. The company has not announced any additional DC titles at this time.
