At a recent showing at their development studios in San Diego, Midway showed off its latest offerings on the N64 and PlayStation.

　　California Speed is the latest arcade racer that follows in the tradition of the SF Rush/ Cruisin series. The game is being ported to the N64 and feature all the cars of its coin-op cousin including the infamous Golf cart. The frame rate is going to be maintained without the use of the Expansion pack. California Speed is scheduled for a March release with no PS version currently planned.

　　RC Stunt Copter has been revamped ... kind of. There are all kinds of new missions that require you to save children and other wacky stuff. A humorous commentator was also added and says some rather amusing things. RC is currently penned in for a July release.

　　Gauntlet Legends is coming for N64 and PS and is being rebuilt to take advantage of each system capabilities. The N64 version in particular looked great (it was labeled 10 percent complete) and will use the N64 expansion pack to offer better resolution. The PlayStation version will support two-player play while the N64 version will have the full four-player simultaneous support. What the PS will have are new CG movies that tell the story of Gauntlet; and new characters, new levels, and new bosses highlight the extras. The game is set for Spring of 99.

　　Rampage was an unexpected success for Midway so Rampage Universal Tour was born. Three new creatures join the fray along with new levels and bosses. The PS version will finally have three-player support and have exclusive CG movies. Look for this one April ‘99 for both N64 and PS.

　　Boss Rally (tentative title) is a racing title for the N64. Shown only on video so far, details are still sketchy. There is a high res, letterbox mode that may or may not require the Expansion pack. Rally is scheduled for a May or June release.
