The PC version of Konami's Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is "stunning" and plays to the strengths of the platform. That's according to Konami marketing executive Jon Edwards, who talked more about the PC edition of the stealth-action game in a new interview.
"The PC version is stunning," Edwards told MCV. "We are so pleased to be able to release it alongside the console games, and that Kojima Productions has worked so hard to make it such a strong version."

The Phantom Pain's PC edition was originally expected to ship two weeks after the console version, but Konami later brought the date forward to launch the game worldwide on September 1 across all systems. In addition, everyone who preorders The Phantom Pain on PC gets a free copy of Ground Zeroes.
Also in the interview, Edwards explained why he thinks PC is a "perfect fit" for The Phantom Pain.
"Like Ground Zeroes, the graphics are stunning in the new 4K mode, while the scale and online elements within the game are a perfect fit for the format," he explained. "Metal Gear Solid V is such an entertaining game, we always wanted it to play the strengths of its host format, and the PC edition certainly does that. It is a stunning conversion."

Earlier this year, Konami announced that it had started development on a new Metal Gear Solid game and was actively recruiting for the project. Meanwhile, series creator Hideo Kojima is expected to exit Konami sometime after The Phantom Pain ships on September 1.
