Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes developer Kojima Productions is currently preparing a trailer that will compare resolution and frame rate between the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4 versions of the game.
Series creator Hideo Kojima announced the news on Twitter, saying a trailer is better than simply releasing comparison images because those images would need to be compressed.
When the trailer is released, it'll be difficult to determine the exact difference in frame rate because the video is going to be streamed, Kojima cautioned fans. Thus, he said it "may be better" to download the trailer to get a better understanding of the differences between platforms.
Kojima made waves earlier this week when he reportedly said that the PlayStation 4 version of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes looks "slightly better" than the Xbox One version.
Konami has yet to confirm if there is a resolution or frame rate difference between the Xbox One and PS4 versions of the game, so you might have to wait until the game is released to know which version is visually superior.
Kojima agreed with this. "You can tell clearly when you play it," he said.
If Ground Zeroes does in fact run in a higher resolution and frame rate on PS4 compared to Xbox One, it won't be the first multiplatform game to do so. Responding to the 1080p/60fps debate recently, Microsoft said, "these little things get way overblown." Meanwhile, Sony UK boss Fergal Gara told GameSpot this week that better performance on PS4 over Xbox One is because Sony's console is "performing and packing the punch that developers want."
It's not only Ground Zeroes' visual performance that's been drawing headlines of late. Kojima and his team have also been faced with controversy surrounding the game's reportedly short length.
