A 1.01 patch was recently announced by Konami for the online multiplayer component of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, and today Konami’s official MGO twitter account summarized some of the upcoming adjustments and fixes.

The following upcoming tweets represent a summary of many of the planned changes

  [CQC Balance Adjustments]

1-hit CQC knockouts following up a sprint seems to be used quite frequently with an over-powered effect

  — Metal Gear Online (@MetalGearOnline) October 23, 2015

We'll be making various adjustments to encourage more strategic uses of CQC

  — Metal Gear Online (@MetalGearOnline) October 23, 2015

Re: CQC Damage - currently a 1-hit or 1-throw CQC move can stun opponents.

  — Metal Gear Online (@MetalGearOnline) October 23, 2015

We'll be revising the damage required to knockout an opponent in order to prevent this.

  — Metal Gear Online (@MetalGearOnline) October 23, 2015

Re: CQC Range - the CQC range currently covers a wide left/right range

  — Metal Gear Online (@MetalGearOnline) October 23, 2015

We'll be narrowing the range and likewise, removing the CQC icon to encourage more skillful use of CQC moves

  [Class Adjustments]

Our telemetry data reveals that the infiltrator class is responsible for the vast majority of kills

  [Class Adjustments]

Our telemetry data reveals that the infiltrator class is responsible for the vast majority of kills

  — Metal Gear Online (@MetalGearOnline) October 23, 2015

  Infiltrator Adjustments 1:

The infiltrator class was originally intended to excel at stealth, but be at a disadvantage in direct conflict

  — Metal Gear Online (@MetalGearOnline) October 23, 2015

but that is currently not the case. To remedy the issue, health and stamina, along with the damage done by certain weapons will be adjusted

  — Metal Gear Online (@MetalGearOnline) October 23, 2015

  Infiltrator Adjustments 2:

The infiltrator’s stealth camo in particular gives them a disproportionate advantage over other classes.

  — Metal Gear Online (@MetalGearOnline) October 23, 2015

To achieve better balance, stealth camo will temporarily be disabled when taking damage. Battery life will also be decreased

  — Metal Gear Online (@MetalGearOnline) October 23, 2015

  Infiltrator Adjustments 3:

Players using stealth camo are extremely hard to mark when when using the Int-Scope/Binoculars

  — Metal Gear Online (@MetalGearOnline) October 23, 2015

Therefore, the time required to focus on a player using stealth camo, in order to mark them, has been shortened.

  — Metal Gear Online (@MetalGearOnline) October 23, 2015

We'll make an exception for stealth camo for the attacking team when playing “CLOAK AND DAGGER” which will continue to operate as-is

  — Metal Gear Online (@MetalGearOnline) October 23, 2015

  Infiltrator Adjustments 4:

Saving teammates being fultoned by a player with the "FULTON+" Lv.2 ability was prohibitively difficult.

  — Metal Gear Online (@MetalGearOnline) October 23, 2015

Therefore, speed for "FULTON+" Lv.2 will be reduced to give players a realistic chance to be rescued.

  — Metal Gear Online (@MetalGearOnline) October 23, 2015

  Infiltrator Adjustments 5:

CQC will be adjusted and better considered a special skill for the infiltrator class.

  — Metal Gear Online (@MetalGearOnline) October 23, 2015

To differentiate infiltrators, they will be able to score instant CQC stuns when hitting or throwing with "CQC STEALTH+" Lv.2 or higher.

  — Metal Gear Online (@MetalGearOnline) October 23, 2015

  Infiltrator Adjustments 6:

The Infiltrator class was not intended to use heavy firepower, but access to certain weapons upset this balance.

  — Metal Gear Online (@MetalGearOnline) October 23, 2015

Therefore, some machine guns and launchers will no longer be usable by Infiltrators.

  — Metal Gear Online (@MetalGearOnline) October 23, 2015

To offset this, shotguns will be made exclusive to Infiltrators.

  — Metal Gear Online (@MetalGearOnline) October 23, 2015

The E.LOCATOR is also being made exclusive to the Scout class and will no longer be available to Infiltrators.

  — Metal Gear Online (@MetalGearOnline) October 23, 2015

Quite the list, but informative nonetheless.

Metal Gear Online puts players against each other in team-based, stealth battles. The online component was developed by Konami's Los Angeles-based studio, previously known as Kojima Productions LA. The multiplayer mode is currently available on consoles, but the PC version was delayed to early 2016.

The online Metal Gear solid mode was first introduced to the series back in 2008 with Metal Gear Solid 4, the servers for this mode were shut down by Konami in 2012.
