As GameSpot News reported at E3, Hasbro Interactive and MicroProse's MechWarrior 3 officially went gold on May 12 and will reach retailer shelves for mainstream consumption on June 1.
Hasbro isn't taking its first major leap into hard-core gaming lightly either, as the company will launch cinema advertising beginning the week of June 14 with a 30-second spot in 7,900 theaters nationally for a four-week period. That listing of theaters includes those showing Star Wars: Episode I: The Phantom Menace. Hasbro is hoping to show the ad spot to 48,000,000 moviegoers.
Starting on the series finale of Star Trek - Deep Space Nine, Hasbro will give viewers a taste of what it plans to do with television advertising during the week of May 31.
We've already begun seeing boxed copies of MechWarrior 3 on GameSpot desks here in San Francisco, so gamers will have the game soon.
