Magic: The Gathering is adding another huge name to its Universes Beyond portfolio, as parent company Hasbro has announced a new partnership with Marvel that will bring iconic superheroes and supervillains to the trading card game.
According to the official release, Marvel's first appearance in Magic is set for sometime in 2025. While details on the specifics of the deal have not been revealed, Hasbro says the agreement is a "multi-year, multi-set" agreement that will see both "collectible products and tentpole sets."

Now Playing: Magic: The Gathering x Marvel Announcement Reveal Trailer
"Hasbro will continue to bring new ways for consumers to express their Marvel fandom through Magic: The Gathering’s collection of Universes Beyond crossover products," Wizards of the Coast president Cynthia Williams said in the official release. "We are extremely proud to collaborate with Marvel to bring its iconic characters to fans around the world in new ways."
Marvel joins a growing list of outside IP who have joined the trading card game in recent years, with recent additions including Doctor Who, Evil Dead, The Princess Bride, and the upcoming Fallout Commander decks. The Lord Of The Rings was featured in a tentpole set of its own earlier this year, while sets featuring the Assassin's Creed and Final Fantasy franchises were also announced for 2024 and 2025 respectively.
The next core Magic: The Gathering set, The Lost Caverns Of Ixalan, launches November 17. Previews for the set--which includes another Universes Beyond partnership, this time with Jurassic World--are scheduled to begin with Wizards of the Coast's WeeklyMTG livestream on October 24.
