The next entry in EA's The Sims franchise has been announced. The Sims Mobile, a new free game for iOS and Android devices, launched this week in Brazil and will come to other markets later.
In true Sims form, the new mobile game lets you play God, basically, as you can create a family unit and progress them through their lives. You can also play with other real-life people by hosting and attending parties and becoming friends, enemies, or soulmates.
The game's official description explains that you can do all manner of things in the new Sims game for mobile such as making tacos or thinking in the shower. There are also venues to unlock such as a restaurant or a nightclub, and you can then customize the area further.
There will also be dialogue options in the game. As you can see in the image below, one of the scenarios involves a discussion between a couple that has very different options.
As for the mainline Sims series, the latest entry is The Sims 4, which came out in 2014.
In 2015, EA closed the primary Maxis studio in Emeryville, CA; the team was behind games like SimCity, Spore, and the early Sims games. In its announcement for the new mobile game this week, EA said it was made by "the creators of The Sims and SimCity franchises."
