Mafia creator Daniel Vavra's new company Warhorse Studios has officially announced its debut project, a medieval role-playing game for PC and "next-gen consoles" called Kingdom Come: Deliverance.

　　Interestingly, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 were not named outright, suggesting the studio has not officially partnered with one or both platform holders just yet for the new game.

　　Kingdom Come: Deliverance is planned to launch in 2015, but so far no company has signed on to publish the game. Vavra wrote an comprehensive feature earlier this year detailing his (so far unsuccessful) worldwide travels in a bid to find a publisher.

　　The open-world action-adventure role-playing game boasts "blockbuster production values, a nonlinear story, and revolutionary, first-person melee combat." The game runs on Crytek's CryEngine 3 game engine.

　　Kingdom Come: Deliverance is set within the Holy Roman Empire during the late Middle Ages. The game promises period-accurate fighting techniques, horseback combat, open-field sieges, and "large-scale battles," the studio said. In addition, players will develop relationships and a reputation that will inform the wider story.

　　Lastly, Kingdom Come: Deliverance does not feature magic, fantasy elements, or any mythical overtones like many medieval RPGs do. Instead, it aims to be historically authentic through genuine depictions of characters, themes, and warfare.
