Colorado-based game developer VR1, a subsidiary of Pacific Century CyberWorks Japan, has announced Lost Continents, its next massively multiplayer online role-playing game. The game is inspired by the classic adventure stories of Jules Verne and the pulp adventure serials of the 1930s. Players will assume the role of a hero, and they will explore lost cities, fight off supernatural and sci-fi creatures, and uncover mysterious secrets.
Lost Continents is based on VR1's Conductor technology and the Tesla engine, which was used in Nightcaster, VR1's action-adventure game for the Microsoft Xbox. The game will feature a number of new features, such as private zones, which will let players choose who they play with.
