It's been a good year for our favorite raider of tombs. We just got word that Lara Croft, the protagonist of the beloved Tomb Raider franchise, will enter the Golden Joystick Awards Hall of Fame.

　　Lara Croft, one of the most iconic and recognisable characters in gaming and film, is to be bestowed the honour of being entered into the Golden Joystick Awards Hall Of Fame.

　　An honour reserved only for the true behemoths in the world of gaming, the Golden Joystick Hall of Fame is only open to those games and characters that have changed the face of gaming and become an absolute global phenomena. It is hard to argue that there is any one character who has done this more than Lara Croft.

　　Tomb Raider in retrospect has done some huge numbers with the franchise selling over 46 million copies every since Tomb Raider 1996. That's including the number of comics, cartoons and even films starring Angelina Jolie. The adventurer has made a comeback in the last couple of years in the form of the reboot Tomb Raider and its recent sequel Rise of the Tomb Raider. 　　The Golden Joystick Awards is community-voted award show that celebrates games in a number of different categories.
