Insane
Insane-April 2024
Apr 22, 2025 1:52 PM

Codemasters USA's Insane will be an online multiplayer driving game that, as its name seems to imply, won't be a completely orthodox, rigidly realistic racing simulation. Insane will instead be an arcade-action game that features both off-road driving and over-the-top destruction derby gameplay. Though the game will feature standard checkpoint racing, there will also be capture-the-flag and deathmatch modes.

Insane will feature over 20 different vehicles, from dune buggies to monster trucks. You'll be able to race in over 25 different environments, including deserts, mountains, dirt tracks, and more. And despite its arcade-action nature, Insane will in fact feature a complete physics engine to model car damage, suspension, and center of gravity for each vehicle. You can and will drag your car - and your opponents' cars - through the mud using front-, rear-, four-wheel, or all-wheel-drive. That's because Insane isn't the kind of car-combat action game you may have seen before. It's not a futuristic sci-fi game, and there won't be any machine guns, rocket launchers, grenades, or laser beams. Instead, the game takes place in the present day, and instead of using mounted artillery to off your competition, you'll have to bump, ram, and smash up your opponent's vehicles with your own. Games can either be hosted on private servers or on Codemasters' own system - up to 15 players can compete in a single game.

Racing-game fans who dislike things like traffic laws, car insurance, and personal safety will be able to go Insane this September when the game is scheduled for release.
